Pictures from Santo Domingo, part 1

Here are a few pictures we took when we were in Santo Domingo. I have more I'd like to share, along with others from before our time in SD. The first one here is of a Tsachila man. This is one of the indigenous groups in Ecuador, that live mainly in the Santo Domingo area. There are only about 5000 or so of them left. Traditionally, the men dye their hair red. There are a few believers among the Tsachila, and now I ask you all to pray for the work of the gospel among them.
The next couple of pictures are from a kid's Bible club that I went to one afternoon. It is in one of the poorer barrios or neighborhoods.
The last picture is of a fountain that is on the way to downtown Santo Domingo. We passed by it just about everyday. I guess this is all for now.

Funny Pictures

Express Lunch- you might have to look at this one a bit closer...in case you can't tell, it's of a baby breastfeeding on the motorbike.

Back in Cumbaya

Hello everyone! This will be just a quick post to let everyone know that we're back after our time in Santo Domingo and a quick trip to the coast. Sorry it's been a while since the last post. We have quite a bit to catch up on and quite a few pictures to put on. These pictures are from before our time in Santo Domingo. The first picture is was taken up Chota way, and is a picture of the sugar cane fields. The next picture is of us up at the Panecillo in Quito. The next one is of William and German, a neighbor's dad-at their birthday celebration. The last one here was taken on the side of Ilalo, overy by Tingo and is the last picture of the Evans' time here. To finish, I have some words from Scripture to share (I'm going to begin putting in a few favorite passages from Colossians, one of my favorite books of the Bible.)
Colossians 1:15-20-"He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile himself to all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross."

Still in Santo Domingo

Hello again. Just want to say hi and let you all know that we´re still alive and kicking. We´re having a great time and good opportunities. I still don´t have a way to share pictures with you for now, but I do have a great promise from scripture to share.

Zepheniah 3.17-The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.

In Santo Domingo

Just wanted to let you all know we made it to Santo Domingo. Don´t have any pictures (from here) for now and may not have a way to put them on until we get back to Quito. We are having a nice time and we´ve already met some great people. Don´t have much else to say. Keep praying daily for the Haleys.
Here´s just a couple of verses I wanted to share. Really, the whole Psalm is great but here´s a part of it for now.
Psalm 116.12-14-´How can I repay the LORD for all his goodness to me?
I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD.
I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people.´
