Trip to Cotopaxi
These pictures are from a recent trip to Mt. Cotopaxi. It is a volcano that is about 2 hours south of here. It was just amazing. We had been wanting to go for a while and finally went with a couple of other missionary families. We basically drove up there and some of us hiked part of the mountain up to the first refuge to a height of about 15,800 feet. The top of the mountain is over 19,000 feet high. It's been my dream to climb the entire thing with a neighbor friend of mine and after going there, the dream has been confirmed-so watch out Cotopaxi!
YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE!
Here is Liverpool FC's biggest American fan at an elevation of about 15,000 feet.
As you can see, it was a bit cold and windy up there, and it even started sleeting a bit.
Here's a picture of us.
Isaiah 40:30-31-"Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Well, we've been doing well. We had a nice time on this trip. It was nice to get away, even for a few hours and be reminded of how wonderful the Creator is. When you see His creation and how big and beautiful it is, it makes you think of how even greater and more beautiful the Creator is than the creation.
A bit of an update-we've been doing well on follow-up and have started on that ok, but there is so much to do. Please pray that we can continue to do this and find others to help us as well. Will have to share some stories from when the volunteers were here and from some things that have happened since then. I will also need to post some more pictures from our trip to Cotopaxi.
One last prayer request based on another verse-Ephesians 6:19-"Pray also for me (us), that whenever I (we) open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel."
